About
Hello there! My name is Emmith 'Mith' Wilkie, and I am an artist based out of Tucson, Arizona in the United States. Throughout my life, I have navigated the world through different mediums to find some form of understanding of this moment I share with everyone on this clay sphere.
I enjoy participating in many different ways and I have found that I have wanted to share the process on a public platform. Thus the birth of 'Natural Dilemma' was put into action.

Originally this was a website based around reviewing music artists, equipment, and techniques. However, while writing for that project I had found myself to be drained of any spark or interest after I began to write for content creation instead of a cathartic release. Shall I write for myself or do i attempt to garnish an audience by appealing to an algorithm? Such is a natural dilemma.
As with most things in our lives we find ourselves in natural dilemmas. This term has stuck with me for several years as I have found that as our societal expectations in the USA zeroed in on making as much money as possible, which I believe has led many artists into a pit of self monetization and rejecting art for ourselves.
Even though it has it's own place in our world, the 'influencer' path that many artists have decided to go down has decimated originality and controversial media. The big art filter has been installed online, and many folks continue to fall in line. Appeal to the algorithm if you wish to make money, refuse and you may just live in a state of denial as you attempt to garnish fame.
If you wish to become a "famous artist", your content will not be your own, your success is determined by engagement not by how it moves you.
Natural Dilemma is my collection of art, ideas, videos, opinions, etc. I wish for this to become the safe haven for all my art and ideas to exist without the fear of any conformity.
Understand that I will refuse to create for an algorithm, But I still want to share with the world. One social platform will not sway me to change who i am or what I will create. The cause and effect of my actions will shape me into who I will become.
Aside from what Natural Dilemma means to me, it may become something entirely different to you. Perhaps you will feel inspired by my work or by my words. If one of my pieces causes you to take action to create something for yourself, then I would have accomplished way more than what I had expected.
From the deepest part of my heart, thank you for even being here, I hope you can take something away from what I continue to put into the world.
